Testing, inspections, and energy ratings for better performing homes.
What We Offer
-
Sometimes, a conversation is all you need. During a phone consultation, we’ll listen to your concerns, assess what may be happening, and offer practical guidance for your home. If we feel an inspection or testing would be helpful, we’ll recommend the best next step.

Look beyond the symptoms.
If certain rooms are too hot or cold, your energy costs seem unusually high, or your home simply isn't as comfortable as it should be, the problem isn't always obvious.
Our on-site home performance inspection begins with a comprehensive visual evaluation of the property. We assess areas that may be contributing to comfort, efficiency, or performance concerns and determine whether additional diagnostic testing would help identify the source.
When testing is appropriate, it can typically be performed during the same visit.
Best For:
• Uneven temperatures
• Drafty rooms
• Heating and cooling concerns
• High energy costs
• Suspected air leakage
• Existing homes with unexplained comfort issues -
Find out where your home is losing air.
Blower door testing measures the amount of air leaking through a home's building envelope. Using a calibrated fan temporarily installed in an exterior doorway, we create a controlled pressure difference that allows us to measure whole-home air leakage and investigate where that leakage is occurring.
The results can help identify hidden air leaks, drafts, efficiency concerns, and areas where the building envelope may need improvement.
Blower door testing can be performed for both existing homes and new construction.
Best For:
• New construction performance testing
• Existing home diagnostics
• Air leakage concerns
• Drafts and comfort problems
• Energy-efficiency evaluations -
Make sure conditioned air is going where it should.
Leaks within an HVAC duct system can allow heated or cooled air to escape before it ever reaches the rooms it's intended to serve.
Duct leakage testing uses calibrated equipment to pressurize the duct system and measure how much air is escaping. The results can help identify HVAC efficiency concerns and determine whether duct leakage may be contributing to comfort or performance issues.
Testing is available for both new construction and existing homes when appropriate.
Best For:
• New construction HVAC testing
• Uneven heating or cooling
• HVAC efficiency concerns
• Suspected duct leakage
• Home performance diagnostics -
Catch insulation problems before the walls close.
The quality of an insulation installation can have a significant impact on a home's comfort, efficiency, and overall performance.
Westoff Services provides visual insulation inspections during new construction to evaluate installation quality before drywall is installed. We look for potential issues such as gaps, incomplete coverage, compression, and other installation deficiencies that could compromise the home's thermal envelope.
Identifying these issues during construction gives builders the opportunity to make corrections while the insulation is still accessible.
Best For:
• New construction homes
• Custom home builders
• Scattered-site and infill builders
• Pre-drywall inspections
• High-performance construction -
Build to a higher standard.
For builders pursuing higher levels of energy performance, Westoff Services provides the inspections, testing, and energy evaluation services needed to support ENERGY STAR® and Net Zero new construction projects.
We work throughout the construction process to evaluate critical components of the home's performance and provide the testing and documentation required for applicable programs.
Best For:
• ENERGY STAR® new homes
• Net Zero projects
• Energy-efficient new construction
• Builders specializing in high-performance homes
